Welcome back it's that time again - yes another challenge!!! This months challenge theme is party sponsored by  Crafty Ribbons .  I took the theme of party and kinda went in the direction of invitation meets surprise.  Here's what I came up with - hope you like it! When I think about a party, even though I've never had one I think of a surprise party.  And so here the surprise is hidden on the inside.  I used a resist pattern paper and then added some Heidi Swapp shine to it, I love the way that it sparkles! Happy crafting everyone.

Challenge #124 -- EASTER &/or APRIL SHOWERS

Image
Wow we are half way through April already who would have thought!  Must be time for another Challenge reminder for Lets Craft and Create .  So April for me is all about Easter and special birthdays - it's a month where I pray that the rain stays away!  My inspiration piece for this months challenge then is all about easter.  I've created a side step card for the extra depth and spring feel. Thanks for stopping by - happy crafting!

Busy fun times......

Image
It's been a while since I last posted so thought I would share some of what I've been up to lately.  For a long time I've wanted to sell some of the items that I make, but had been afraid to.....what was holding me back was the thought of 'What if no-one likes it'. Gasp and tears would follow.  I was having a conversation with my 9yr old son late last year about him giving things a go and not being afraid to jump in and try because you just don't know what will happen until you do.  The old saying of 'Feel the fear and do it anyway' sprang to my mind. Sometimes and only sometimes he can really surprise me.  He paused for a second and turned me and in a quiet thoughtful voice said 'You know mum, you should sell some of your craft things that you make, I think you'd do really well.' At that point I realised I had to live by example.  I thanked him for his kind words and told him that even though I was afraid that no-one else would like...

Challenge #123 enTWINED

Image
Welcome to the reminder post for challenge #123 entwined for Let's Craft and Create! As the challenge title suggests this months theme is the use of twine in a project.  When I thought of twine I automatically thought of a males birthday card for some reason.  I had some nautical themed prima paper that I thought would work quite well with some stamped rustic images.  Here's what I managed to come up with....... To complete this project I have used: Prima - French Riviera Archival Ink Black Vintage Photo Distress ink Pearl enamel dots Stamp set Thanks for stopping by!

Live Fully Always

Image
Even though 2017 has only really just begun, it still seems like time is flying by!  It seems quite appropriate then that the challenge #121 over at Let's craft and create is Things with wings. Here is a card I made for a friends 50th - I decided to use a dragonfly stamp for this special occasion. The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change and change in the perspective of self realization; and the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. Hope you like my inspiration piece, be sure to pop along and join in the challenge.  Happy crafting!  Thanks for visiting, please leave me a comment with your blog too!

What a way to spend some time!

Image
Hey Everyone - so someone suggested that I join in a L.O.A.D challenge for the month of October, it could be a scrap layout or a card etc a double layout was worth two days.  Sure I thought how hard could this be.....tell you what it's a good thing that I needed to produce a few extra cards for a gala coming up!  I had great fun doing this though, such a good way to work on those decision making skills lol. I know it's not October anymore and even though all my creations were shared with a LOAD Facebook group I thought I'd share a few here too.  Let me know which ones you prefer!     Camera box with mini album   This was from a Trina Mclune kit but I loved the contrast of pretty pink flowery and the typical expression on my daughters face!

Friday Flashback

Image
Sitting in the office today my mind has wandered a little...ok a lot!  Thoughts have roamed from nagging the husband to finish off my craft room over the weekend, to 'oh I must make some father's day cards'....and then landed at one point to remembering some projects from the past.  So I thought I'd re-live some of those moments today!  Enjoy :)

Paper Smooches Digi Stamps - attempt 1

Image
As I was looking through Facebook the other day a notification from Paper Smooches popped up for a Guest Designer for a month - curious I went and had a look as I have often looked at the Paper Smooches stamps and even own some of their dies.  Great value products by the way :)  Anyway....I thought why not give it a go, nothing to lose and some great cards to gain.  I've never used Digi Stamps before and the site offered some for free, so I jumped on in boots n all. I also just wanted to say that I don't have all the latest and greatest of colouring products so I think that this is a good display to showcase that you can produce some great images with only a few resources at your disposal.  Hope you enjoy! One of the great things that I found with the digi stamps is that I could re-size it. I used some watercolour paint for the background and added some stamped stars, lightly embossing them in silver for a bit of shimmer.  I coloured the little critte...

Feeling Sketchy Card #146 - Where there is love there is you

Image
I've been needing some help getting a bit of motivation back and so thought I'd give some blog challenges a go again, nothing like a deadline to get the creative juices flowing right!  So here is my take on the Feeling Sketchy #146 challenge I wanted to do something a bit different so created a Z fold card.  I used a Tim Holtz die to create some depth and texture in the background, stamping over the top of it and continuing this through onto the raised centre circle.  Completing the sketch with a floral stamped image which has also continued through to the next layer.  I really enjoyed giving this a go - thanks Feeling Sketchy!
