Do-Al(1) Kreatives - Pastel tones

Image
Hi Everyone - today I have another challenge for you from  Do Al(1) Kreatives .  The theme is around pastel tones or shades and the image has been sponsored by  Sheep Ski Designs . I thought with this one I'd like to do something a bit different for me - so I made a tag!  I never make tags not even at Christmas time lol.  So here I present my first tag, leave me a comment and let me know if I did an ok job.  Who knows this year I may even create an art journal page....... I tried out a few different techniques on this tag.  I started by using some 13@rts Clear medium gel through a stencil.  Once the medium gel was dried I then used some 13@rts Metallic Teal paint over the top.  I was hoping that the gel wouldn't absorb the colour and I'd be left some really visible texture...unfortunately that wasn't the case.  I still liked the effect it gave though.    I built up some layers using a Kaisercraft fram...

Southern Girls Challenge 'Die Cuts' - We're Expecting!

Image
My goodness with so many great dies out there days it was so hard to decide what to do this month.  As tough as it was though I went with a card that I've wanted to try for ages...but you know it's one of those that you never really seem to find the time.... Before anyone asks or even thinks it though No I'm not expecting! ha ha While flicking though you tube one day, as you do, I happened to end up watching a Simon Says -Lawn Fawn clip where I saw a gender reveal card and I just loved the idea of that.  I really wish this type of thing had been around when I was having my babies....it's a bit late to do a reveal for them now though. Anyway here is my version of a gender reveal card......... Even though I used my Mini Misti stamping tool I clearly need a bit more practice with stamping on acetate!  Supplies List White Cardstock Brown Cardstock Yellow Patterned papers Yellow Ink Archival Grey Shadow Ink Stazon Ink Black Acetate Foam Squares M...

Southern Girls Challenge 'Nature'

Image
Team Lou is focusing on 'Nature' this time round, so I thought I'd do my own kind of spin on it.  I'm not normally a flowery kinda girl but this kind of flower well yeah I like it! As I said I thought I'd do something a bit different - this is water colour on canvas. I like to think of them as funky flowers, or depending on how some of them turn out freaky flowers! So the idea here is to obviously paint the flowers on using water colour and then outline everything that you see.  Each person see's things differently too which is the great thing about it.  Here's a peek at what an area can look like before the outline and after. Because it's water colour you can control the depth of colour.  It would look great as a layout background too - Just remember to first apply some clear gesso to your paper. Once again we have some fabulous sponsors, so please pop onto their websites and pay them a visit! Krafters Cart ...

Do-Al(1) Kreatives February 2018

Welcome back it's that time again - yes another challenge!!! This months challenge theme is party sponsored by  Crafty Ribbons .  I took the theme of party and kinda went in the direction of invitation meets surprise.  Here's what I came up with - hope you like it! When I think about a party, even though I've never had one I think of a surprise party.  And so here the surprise is hidden on the inside.  I used a resist pattern paper and then added some Heidi Swapp shine to it, I love the way that it sparkles! Happy crafting everyone.

Southern Girls Challenge - Circular embellies

Image
Hi there and welcome!  So today is my first post as a new Design team member over at the  Southern Girls Challenge  - I'm very excited to be on the team. Ok, so the theme of this challenge is about circular embellishments....sequins, buttons, flair etc if you can think of it then it applies.  I couldn't help myself so I went with some spotted paper too...it's circular so it counts right lol Aren't kids just adorable when they are asleep!  This photo was taken after a rather restless night of sharing an inflatable bed with my daughter...the girl is a wriggler! I bought the paper collection (Prima Rose Quartz) back in July 20107 - I just loved it and it's romantic/dreamy feel.  I had no plans or any ideas what I was going to do with it until this challenge came about, and I remembered about the page with the circles...and so it all began. Anyway I liked the way that the circles kinda looked like thought bubbles like you see in cartoons lol.  A...
