Do-Al(1) Kreatives - Pastel tones

Hi Everyone - today I have another challenge for you from Do Al(1) Kreatives.  The theme is around pastel tones or shades and the image has been sponsored by Sheep Ski Designs.

I thought with this one I'd like to do something a bit different for me - so I made a tag!  I never make tags not even at Christmas time lol.  So here I present my first tag, leave me a comment and let me know if I did an ok job.  Who knows this year I may even create an art journal page.......



I tried out a few different techniques on this tag.  I started by using some 13@rts Clear medium gel through a stencil.  Once the medium gel was dried I then used some 13@rts Metallic Teal paint over the top.  I was hoping that the gel wouldn't absorb the colour and I'd be left some really visible texture...unfortunately that wasn't the case.  I still liked the effect it gave though. 



 
I built up some layers using a Kaisercraft frame die and edging.  I layered these under and on top of a doily in a multi directional manor so as to draw the eye into the coloured image.


Feeling it needed some final sparkle I splashed some Heidi Swapp Gold spray and then added some micro beads for a bit more texture and sparkle.  Finally I added some cheesecloth, flowers and my image.

Feeling Sketchy Card #146 - Where there is love there is you

I've been needing some help getting a bit of motivation back and so thought I'd give some blog challenges a go again, nothing like a deadline to get the creative juices flowing right!  So here is my take on the Feeling Sketchy #146 challenge I wanted to do something a bit different so created a Z fold card.  I used a Tim Holtz die to create some depth and texture in the background, stamping over the top of it and continuing this through onto the raised centre circle.  Completing the sketch with a floral stamped image which has also continued through to the next layer.  I really enjoyed giving this a go - thanks Feeling Sketchy!

Southern Girls Challenge - Anything goes

Welcome back everyone!  This time of the year is when things really start to get busy for me - so an anything goes challenge is just perfect.  Busy times do often mean that my relaxing times are spent playing with my craft goodies. I have used a New Zealand Brand here of Rosies Studio - Indigo mist range. This is a range that I had in my stash - yes I'm going through one of those phases where I feel the need to use up more of my hidden stash rather than think of myself as a craft supply horder. So here we have 'Love u' This particular paper was a bight too pink for me - so I toned it down by applying a thin layer of white gesso over the top of some clear gesso so as not to destroy my paper. I have used left over scraps of varying lengths to build up my next layer and to add that directional layer. I'd love to see what you are working on so remember to join in the challenge fun!
