  I made a card like this a little while ago for a friends 50th and had a number of compliments on it so thought I would write up a wee tutorial for anyone that would like to try it.   Supplies Used 15cm x 30cm light coloured cardstock (Card Base) 14.5cm x 14.5cm dark brown cardstock 14cm x 14cm Kraft card Coloured patterned scrap paper approx. 10cm x 9cm 3 craft match sticks Tim Holtz Alterations thinlit dies 7 Flowers (1 large, 1 med, 5 small) Foliage die cut x 2 Glass beads Gel Medium (Transparent) Black and/or brown ink Heidi Swapp White colour shine Adhesive tape Décor stamp (I’ve used a dragonfly) Sentiment stamp Heat tool Paint brush Bone Folder Die Cutting machine (Cuttlebug etc) Instructions Begin by forming your card base.  Measure 15cm in from the left hand side and score  and then fold.  Use your bone folder to give a crisp edge. Wow we are half way through April already who would have thought!  Must be time for another Challenge reminder for Lets Craft and Create .  So April for me is all about Easter and special birthdays - it's a month where I pray that the rain stays away!  My inspiration piece for this months challenge then is all about easter.  I've created a side step card for the extra depth and spring feel. It's been a while since I last posted so thought I would share some of what I've been up to lately.  For a long time I've wanted to sell some of the items that I make, but had been afraid to.....what was holding me back was the thought of 'What if no-one likes it'. Gasp and tears would follow.  I was having a conversation with my 9yr old son late last year about him giving things a go and not being afraid to jump in and try because you just don't know what will happen until you do.  The old saying of 'Feel the fear and do it anyway' sprang to my mind. Sometimes and only sometimes he can really surprise me.  He paused for a second and turned me and in a quiet thoughtful voice said 'You know mum, you should sell some of your craft things that you make, I think you'd do really well.' At that point I realised I had to live by example.  I thanked him for his kind words and told him that even though I was afraid that no-one else would like...

Welcome to the reminder post for challenge #123 entwined for Let's Craft and Create! As the challenge title suggests this months theme is the use of twine in a project.  When I thought of twine I automatically thought of a males birthday card for some reason.  I had some nautical themed prima paper that I thought would work quite well with some stamped rustic images.  Here's what I managed to come up with....... So this will be my last post as being a member of the Design Team for Let's Scrap Sketches.   I've come to the realisation that life is a bit busy at the moment and as the year has only just started it's looking like it will only get busier as the year goes on.  Thank you to the team at Let's Scrap it has been a pleasure and a wonderful experience.  For those who would like to try being on a design team pop along to the blog for the details on how to apply. The first of the month = a new sketch challenge by Let's Scrap which = inspiration sharing time!!! So here's the sketch to help kick off your inspiration....... And here is my take on it.....well my take on the right hand side of it ..... I love the fact that my girl has a mind of her own, she is personality plus....to the point at times where she resembles a wild child.  But I don't think that I ever want that to change about her.  I hope that she continues to maintain a level of wild and independence about her as she grows. Anyway here I have really used a little bit of everything to create this page.  I delved deep into the dark depths of my stash, so unfortunately I can't tell you the exact name of things that I used but more so the range lol.  So the base is a Bella page, The title is a mixture of thickers and the 'Wild Child' is a Dear Lizzy die cut phrase.  The embelishments including the trees and mushrooms were actually fussy c...
