A bit of fun blog hopping

Image
I've never done nore really understood what a blog hop was before....so when I saw that Lets Scrap is doing one I decided to jump in a give it a go.  Fingers crossed I do it right lol.  Here is a pic of my scrap space...not the neatest or the most spacious.  I have the dining room table and the old hot water cupboard as my crafting area of my world.  It's dinner on our laps until the kids are ready and willing to give up their play room...I'm not holding my breath for it being anytime soon though!

I'm back from SENZ!

So Heather and I went up to SENZ in Auckland this year and had a fantastic time!  We made the most of the opportunity of being able to attend classes with some great tutors and managed to fit in 6 classes and one express class.  Time well worth spent. Ohh and talk about the shopping....a bit too good, I may have gone a bit over board oopps.  We may have left after winning a few prizes also, just to add to the fun.  Heather and I won the fancy dress where the theme was glitz and glam - we sparkled in our lovely dresses and I entered a layout into the 'My Favourite place in NZ' competition....guess what.....It came first in the layout category.  Here are some pics for you to enjoy.

Meet Mr Nine

I found this great sketch on lets scrap sketches and thought it would be perfect for Xander's 9th birthday .  We did so many activities for it that I needed lots of space for multiple photo's. I wasn't able to load this up to the challenge, in case you go and look.  I really wanted to make this playful and fun....for a 9 year old!  Hope you like it.

Feeling Sketchy Card #146 - Where there is love there is you

Image
I've been needing some help getting a bit of motivation back and so thought I'd give some blog challenges a go again, nothing like a deadline to get the creative juices flowing right!  So here is my take on the Feeling Sketchy #146 challenge I wanted to do something a bit different so created a Z fold card.  I used a Tim Holtz die to create some depth and texture in the background, stamping over the top of it and continuing this through onto the raised centre circle.  Completing the sketch with a floral stamped image which has also continued through to the next layer.  I really enjoyed giving this a go - thanks Feeling Sketchy!

Busy weekend away with the girls in the Kapiti coast - Pekapeka wetlands.  Really good idea to have a nice weekend away with like minded people.  Found ourselves a pretty basic Kiwi Bach. . oh yeah, with a pool. Lots of fun and laughter.  Great creative atmosphere.  Lots of food,  the occasional wine or two (not to mention a tall black Russian for Sarah).   And of the course the most important thing Scrapbooking    Here is some of the scrapbooking completed: A little peek at Tammy's Journal:       Sam's Layouts And a couple of Michelle's layouts and Cards:    great fun, great times,  can't wait till next time. 'Just plain awesome' - Lets Scrap challenge

Image
Scrap night challenge was to complete a double layout for the Lets Scrap sketches 3-15-16. Here is the sketch.  And here is Tammy's take on the sketch as a single page layout. This is a picture is of Xander right after he came first in his group for cross country – he had a game plan for it and he executed it through to success. Tammy used Kaiser craft Mister Fox papers as the background and a mixture of Kaiser craft ‘Rad’ embellishments as well as other misc. items.   The background has been stencilled with texture paste as well as splatters of black, white, and copper paint. Enjoy.
